Q: How safe is paintball?
A: Research published by the Minnesota Paintball Association has argued that paintball is one of the statistically safest sports to participate in, with 20 injuries per 100,000 players annually, and these injuries tend to be incidental to outdoor physical activity (trips).

 

Q: Does getting hit with a paintball hurt?
A: Generally paintball does not hurt. There are the occasional times that it will sting and leave a welt, you usually barely feel it. Paintball gets it's bad reputation of being painful from the a few stories where some guy will turn his paintball marker as high as it can go then shoot one of his friends point blank in the back on his bare skin. Or some guys playing in the woods with their paintball marker turned up all the way. In those instances yes it does hurt. But that is not how we play paintball at Utah Xtreme Paintball.

       

Q: What equipment do I need to play?
A: Utah Xtreme Paintball has all the necessary equipment to play available for rent. This includes the paintball marker (gun), and goggle system, which cover the eyes, mouth, nose and ears and are necessary for paintball. You may also bring your own equipment, but it must be approved in order to play. We require that you use our feild paintballs.

 

Q. What should I wear?
A. We recommend comfortable "baggy" clothes. Jeans and a long sleeve shirt, gym or hiking shoes, gloves and baseball caps. The important thing is to cover your skin. Extra protection is not required, but wear what you feel comfortable with. We also have coveralls available for rent.

 

Q. Does the paint from a paintball wash out? Are paintballs toxic?
A. The shell is made with spherical gelatin capsules, and the paint is commonly made from polyethylene glycol, other non-toxic and water-soluble substances. With the majority of the ingrediants being water-soluble the paint will wash out of clothing. Although they are non-toxic they do have a bitter taste.

 

Q. How old do I have to be to play paintball?
A. Players as young as 10 can play. Anyone under 18 needs a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.

 

Q. Do I have to come with a group or can I come by myself?
A. You can come with a group of friends or by yourself and join in with other players.
